Time Machine Failing to do backups

Hi people

I have successfully done automatic backups for years but over the last 2-3 days they have been failing. The progress gets to about 4% but copying 0kb, and then fails with an error message saying a file in "library/Application Support/ApplePushService/aps.db" could not be backed up.

Any ideas?

I have run into Time Machine failing to work, too. It says it can't connect to the mobile drive (G in my case). This is new to me. It had been working since I bought it (in 2013!). The writeup from Apple Support on "I you can't back up or restore your Mac using Time Machine" published on 2/8/2024 says in bullet points 1 & 2 :

1) Make sure your backup disk is supported by Time Machine.

2) If Time Machine says that your backup disk doesn't have enough storage space or is nearly full, use a backup disk that has at least twice the capacity of your Mac." So I am going to see what disks work with Time Machine (and that have 2T storage).

Good luck

Thea
