iMovie on Monterey not possible??

I'm currently on Monterey 12.7.3 and can't update further because my macbook pro is from 2016.

I'm trying to open the iMovie installed 10.1.14 but it insists I update to the new version. It takes me to the app store to download iMovie 10.4 - but then its saying at the top I must update my mac to 13.5 which I can't do because its an old laptop. So I'm stuck! Is there any work around?

I tried downloading an old version of imovie online but it doesn't work and says "not necessary a newer version of imovie is already installed".

Any help?
