Playing the movie I made in iMovie on my mac

I made a movie with iMovie, on my Mac, to upload to utube eventually. It exported to my desktop but when I try to play it, the message says no preview & to open mk video. When I try to do that, nothing thing happens. How can I play the video?

iMovie won't import videos Hello, I have Mac OS 11.5.2 Big Sur, with the most updated iMovie, I am using a late 2013 MacBook Pro laptop. I made a couple movies using my iPhone and iPad, and am trying to edit the videos and thought of iMovie, since thats really all I have, and iMovie won't let me import the videos. I tried bringing in other movies from other sources, and it doesn't seem to want to work at all, with any video type. Am I missing something? Thank.s

Why Did Apple Create iMovie When There is no Way to Add Video? I am using Ventura on my MacBook Air. I opened up iMovie. Under libraries I can see Photos. I dragged a movie clip from Photos to the Time line and it only shows a still image when I play it. But the music track below it plays. Is iMovie not editing video? What am I missing?

Video import problem When I try to import some videos to an iMovie project they won't play. (See the screenshot below) I've tried following the instruction to import the original source media but with no success. Any ideas? Thanks.
