iMovie files stored on external disc unable to open

I'm am trying to access movie files on my Ext. SSD, but when i open the drive they don't appear. When i open about my Mac in the finder menu and clic on storage it shows that drive has movies and photo files. Disk Utility says that i have the same amount of free space as what the storage says i have in movies. I've read the posts regarding the correct way to move files to the external drive and i did this awhile ago and i can't say that i did it the correct way. So i'm looking to see if those files really exist on that drive and how i might get at them with iMovie.

When i try to import in iMovie this is what i see, and i don't want to import all of those libraries but it doesn't give me any other options. And i'm not sure if it will anyway because they are grayed out.

Thx

To see your project icons in the Project Browser screen, click on the library's name in the pop up menu at the top of the Projects Browser screen.

I don't have an explanation of why you cannot see the movie file icons on your external drive. Possibly the external drive is corrupted, or maybe the files are there but just not displayed.

Thx for the reply Rich, but maybe im not asking the right question. I had several movies i created in iMovie that i thought i had stored/moved to the external drive and according to the About this Mac storage window it says i have 806 GB's of movies there.

The Photo Lib's do not have those movies i created in them

Thx
