Recording a Voiceover to a Keynote Slide Presentation Results in Left Channel Only. Right Channel is Silent!

Hi there. I know my stereo recording capabilities are good on my mac setup because it records just fine in stereo when recording audio in GarageBand. When trying to record a voiceover for a keynote presentation, hoping to publish it to YouTube, the result is an audio recording only playing in the left channel. The right side is silent.

Can anyone explain how to fix this? I'm using a MacBook Air, M2, using Sonoma 14.3.1. My equipment (which, again, records fine in GarageBand) is the Scarlett 2i2 with a Shure mic plugged into the Scarlett.
