iPhone 15 Pro Auto Portrait Mode - how to disable this functionality so all backgrounds and all objects in a photo are clear and not blurred out

I just bought the iPhone 15 Pro for the camera. When I go to take a regular picture, it automatically blurs out the background as if i chose Portrait Mode. I HATE THIS! I don't want all my pictures to have a blurred background, especially if its a picture of me and my family with beautiful scenery in the background. I also love taking pics of cooked meals, and it always comes out blurry since it is trying to auto focus. I dont want anything focused i just want a clear picture!! I messed with all of the settings and it still doesnt take full clear pictures, something always is trying to be blurred out or focused. Is this just the way the new iphone 15 is or is there a way to fix this?

No, the iPhone 15 Pro doesn't automatically set all backgrounds to blur. The feature you're experiencing is likely Portrait Mode.

1. Open the Camera app.

2. Swipe right on the screen until you see "Photo" mode. This is the default capture mode that doesn't automatically blur the background.

Zoom in or out

  • On all models, open Camera  and pinch the screen to zoom in or out.
  • On iPhone models with Dual and Triple camera systems, switch between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, and 5x to quickly zoom in or out (depending on your model). For a more precise zoom, touch and hold the zoom controls, then drag the slider right or left.

Note: Photographic Styles are applied to portraits that you take in Photo mode.
