iMovie 9.0.4, I went to edit a project and my audio files were missing.

There was an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. I don't want to have to reload all of my audio files every time I go back to work on a video. I'm on an older iMac (2010?) with an updated SSD.

Thanks for reply. High Sierra, which is the most current my system can utilize. The projects are in something called "Project Library". I do not have any assets in any event library file. I dragged photos which I am using and audio clips into the project timeline directly. And utilized some sound effects from the program itself, which are stable. There is one audio music file which is stable. Really grateful for help, need this for work project.

Good news. Your intuition was good. I was able to speak with Apple: I had filed the original audio files that i had imported into the project, into a folder on my hard drive (in order to organize my audio files.) I removed them from this "subfolder" and PUT THEM BACK ONTO MY DESKTOP. I re-opened iMovie and these audio files had all repopulated the movie timeline in their proper places. I haven't figured out yet how to get these audio files into the iMovie Events folder, so for now, just making sure my audio files will remain available to iMovie on my desktop until I've completed the movie and exported it. If you know how to import them into the Events, to sync up with the actual Project, please let me know. Thank you!

I have iMovie 11, version 9.0.4. I do not see a Mac movie folder. There is a Project Library which I have a few different video projects. and there is an Event Library which I do not know how to use and I have not dragged or imported any files into it thus far. I've dragged photos into the timeline in the Project Library and audio files into the timeline. Thank you!
