Trying to open iMovie and I get "This graphics configuration does not support hardware acceleration, which is required to run iMovie."

I'm trying to open imovie and I get the message, "This graphics configuration does not support hardware acceleration, which is required to run iMovie."

Your graphics card needs to support Metal (accelerated graphics) in order to support certain applications. You can probably upgrade your card. Take a look at this artical.

You can check to see if your graphics card supports metal. Click on Apple Logo/About this Mac/Overwiew/System report/Graphics Displays and then click on your graphics card.
