I am a new owner of an IPhone 17. I would like to know if there is a difference between IPhone & iOS?
iOS comes up in filling in or choosing whether it’s connected to my IPhone? I’m confused, I’m 71 yrs. old, it happens.

There is no iPhone 17. However, there is iOS 17 (the operating system that runs your phone).
You can find the information in Settings>General>About.

ios is the operating system that makes the phone work
there are also variations of ios that run on ipads and apple watch and their new AR headset vision pro
