How to Fix Password Loop After Partitioning Disk on MacBook Air

I partitioned my disk with the intention of recording because it was really laggy on mac (for some reason) and now when I try to switch back, it continuously asks me for a password to unlock the disk. When I enter the password, the bar jumps to 100%, it restarts, then asks me for the password again. This loops on and on
