Water damage on MacBook screen

My MBP was in my backpack walking in the rain, and water must have dripped into the left side (in the backpack sideways). The screen has 3 large layered blotches that extend to the edge of the left side of the screen. It still works though. I have shut down the Mac. Does anyone know how to fix the screen back to normal?

Thanks.

Sounds like the water made inside the glass. After a while the water may evaporate, but you will most likely still see some anomalies when viewing the screen at certain angles. The severity of the blotches will depend on the colors displayed in that spot too.

Depending on how bad those spots are and how sensitive you are to them, you may need to have the Display Assembly replaced which will be expensive unless you have AppleCare+ coverage.

I would also be concerned about water have gotten into the interface ports of the laptop or into the gaps & vents. Sometimes it takes a while (days or even weeks) before corrosion sets in enough to affect the functionality of the ports and electronics.

The damage has already been done regardless so it doesn't really matter if you repair the laptop now or later except for when you will be inconvenienced while it is being repaired (or the time when it does fail & you wait for the repair).
