Your best and easiest resource is probably YouTube.

There are countless video tutorials made for beginners, most of which are around the 20 minute mark though there are some as short as 10 minutes and others of over an hour.

Just make sure you get one made in the last 2 or 3 years otherwise the information may be outdated.

This link gives a selection though I haven't watched them personally.

I have had a quick look at the first tutorial on the list I gave a link to and it appears to be good.

The tutor does not speak too quickly (many do!) and he demonstrates the simple procedures clearly without rushing.

The only problem is that in the middle he makes a short advertisement for a website that provides copyright free music and sound effects. This is quite unnecessary as iMovie comes with a couple of hundred free to use music clips and sound effects. Furthermore if you do a web search you will find quite a lot of free sites (including YouTube itself) which provide thousands of free to use music clips and sound effects.

Apart from that slight "detour" I can recommend the video as a good one for beginners.

There are people on this forum who can help you if you run into any problems or require anything explaining. Just ask.
