iPad freezing up since update to 17.2operating system

In certain apps - most frequent with Booking.com - my iPad freezes.

Begin with a forced restart of your iPad - as this will often resolve an isolated software issue:


Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.




Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.




Also consider updating your iPad to the current version of iPadOS. At the time of writing, this is iPadOS 17.3.1.

After the latest update, feb 22, 2024, my ipad is continually freezing up. At first I thought it was the app I was using, but now I realize that it is the ipad. I realize that you can shut your ipad off and restart to fix this. But it keeps happening over and over and over again. I cannot constantly be shutting off the ipad and restarting. I also thought maybe it was the ipad charging cord I purchased from Amazon. But that’s not it either. This is a huge problem. It happens constantly. I am going to phone customer service and see about getting a repair. I have Apple Care which I dutifully pay for.
