I’ve been trying to text a friend of mine for a few day, and we haven’t contacted before. We tried iMessage and Whatsapp but the messages won’t deliver for either of us. Does anyone know what we can do to fix this?

For Apple to Apple devices iMessages uses wi-fi over a strong signal / internet connection
For Apple to Android devices : To send texts, you may need cellular data turned on if your plan permits (charges for cellular data use may apply) : Apple support have an article online to help:

Trouble-shooting:
You can check if your device is updated to the newest compatible iOS version:
Eg: About iOS 16 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 16.7.5 is the newest
This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users.
Try Settings > General > Software Updates : to see if an update is waiting to be installed.
