Unresponsive screen after 17.3.1 update

(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

• Press and quickly release Volume UP button
• Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
• Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 

(2)  If the above does not work then - Follow the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ If your iPhone is Non-Responsive or Frozen and see if that helps.

(3)  If that does not help, then contact 👉 Official Apple Support OR you can always get your iPhone examined at the Apple Store 👉 Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and evaluation.

Also had this on iphone 15 pro max. Never had an update brick my phone. Was unusable all day despite hard restarts etc. Had to put into DFU mode and use a computer to restore. Shocked they didn't pull the update.

This just happened to my besties phone. We tired hard resetting it and her phone is stuck with black unresponsive screen. I can call her phone and it rings but the screen is dead. I confirmed it did a successful hard reset but nothing. I’ve placed her phone on a wireless charge or corded charger nothing. Even made an accidental 911 call from it but the screen is black. Now I’m scared to do the update. I’m turning updates off on mine till Apple resolves hers.
