How to maximise usage of keyboard without a battery

I had a Bluetooth keyboard attached to my Mac. I removed it to install a hardwired USB keyboard. But in SysPrefs/Keboard, it's still showing keyboard battery level. Duh? No question the level is low, because there isn't a battery there.

The Bluetooth keyboard is no longer in the list of Bluetooth devices. And hey, the Keyboard battery level is now 100%! Not a big deal, but just a little silly. I guess my USB line is now at full power. "Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard" now reports "No keyboard found." So, er, I know there is no Bluetooth keyboard, but it's up to full power anyway!
