Can I allow messages and calls from 2 contacts on WhatsApp if my iPhone is on Do Not Disturb mode?

my question relates to WhatsApp focus mode.

I have it on do not disturb as an app.

But I want to allow WhatsApp calls, or both calls and messages, to come through for only 2 people.

is it possible?

I want to allow calls but not texts from some people in Focus Mode Focus mode lets me choose specific people from whom to allow alerts. But "allow alerts" seems to permit both imessages and phone calls. What I'd like to set up it this: - When in focus mode: Allow calls and imessages from person X Allow *calls* from person Y, but not imessages It looks like you can kind of do this by allowing calls from favorites, but my favorites lists is not the same as my list of people who I want to be able to phone me. The main reason I want to do this is: There's a small number of people who I want to be able to call me when I'm asleep, in case of anything urgent, but some of those people are also likely to text me when I'm asleep (I keep irregular hours) and I don't want to be woken by that. Any tips?

Focus - How can I allow all texts but only certain callers? iOS 16.3 I am trying to set up a Personal Focus that will allow all app notifications including ALL text notifications, but will only allow calls from certain callers. Yes, I'm basically just screening calls when this Focus is on. The problem I'm running into is that text notifications are only happening for people listed in the People/Allow Notifications From list. I can't find a way to allow text notifications from everyone while restricting the list of allowed callers. Specifically allowing Messages in Apps/Allow Notifications From list does not override this. It seems no one at Apple thought that at times I might want to receive texts from everyone, but calls from only certain people. Am I missing something? Is there another way I can limit who's calling but still allow all texts and other notifications?

Once you have WhatsApp app listed as Do Not Allow in a given Focus mode, then you will not receive any notifications from the entire contents of that app.

I am not sure whether you may be able to achieve the result that you are looking for by simply using WhatsApp’s settings without including it in the Focus mode of iOS. In other words, something like muting everyone except the two contacts. You may be able to get specific help on this subject here 👉 https://faq.whatsapp.com/
