Can’t get messages on ipad

Get messages on iPhone but not iPad. Doesn’t happen all the time.

Your iPad cannot send or receive SMS or MMS messages without involving your iPhone.

Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad - Apple Support
