Messages not working with Sonoma 14.3

Hi - I'm unable to use Messages with Sonoma 14.3. I can try to send as usual, but get the 'not delivered' response. Previous version of Mac OS have worked; any workarounds to fix this? Thanks -

I hope this helps you. I had the exact same problem after I upgraded to Sonoma 14.3. I could not figure it out and it's been over a month. Drove me nuts. I have no idea if it's an upgrade to a newer (or latest) Apple OS issue or an issue that has to do with both the iPhone (iOS AND Apple OS). For me, the issue started almost immediately after I upgraded my iMac to Sonoma (from an older Apple OS version). Weirdly enough, my MacBookPro running Ventura also behaved the same (could not send texts to a non-iMessage iPhone user) at the exact time. Receiving and downloading text history when I turned my MAC devices on worked but not sending out. I hadn't turned anything off or on or messed with my iPhone which is weird that the fix was within the iOS.

First make sure you have enabled "Messages in the iCloud" under your Messages/Settings/iMessage on your MACs. Then the issue is going to be on your iPhone. Go to Settings/Messages/ and make sure the option "iMessage" is TURN ON. Then Settings/Messages/ Send & Receive and make sure that YOU ARE SIGNED IN with your Apple ID. I was not and that was the issue

This particular "sing in" is independent from the iCloud sign in Settings first menu option on top where it shows your name, Apple ID, Media & Purchases.

Once you sign in under "Settings/Messages/ Send & Receive" you will see your cell # and all the other email addresses associated with your iPhone as "you can receive iMessages to and reply from" and also "start a new conversation from" showing your cell# and the same email addresses associated with your iPhone. You can check on and off the choices as displayed there.

This fixed it for me immediately. I didn't have to restart anything. Once I signed in with my Apple ID as shown above, it all worked as before. I have an iMac running Sonora 14.3 and an MacBook Pro running Ventura. It all works perfectly now.

I hope it helps.
