This solution from FatCol worked for me:
I went into Music>>Settings>>Files and changed the location of my Music Media Folder, which then generates a new Library file but doesn't move the audio files. I then went back in and changed it again, back to it's original location and the Library file rebuilt again, after which Music worked perfectly.
I hope this helps 🙂

I got the same problem, and when I double click a track the Music app freezes and then I have to Force Quit the app 🙁
There is no error message, my files are stored locally, my mac is authorized and I have an iTunes Match subscription.
That's annoying. I don't have any other suggestions offhand. You could reach out to Official Apple Support and see if they have any ideas. I suppose you could also test behaviour in a new library or user profile.

Is there any error message when you try? Are the files stored locally or in the cloud? Is your computer authorized to your Apple ID? Do you have a subscription to iTunes Match or Apple Music?

Try holding down option+cmd when you next launch Music. This opens the app in its safe mode and can do some housekeeping which may sometimes help.

Unfortunately opening the Music app in safe mode didn't help, the app still freezes when I double click a track.
