Why is my iPhone 15 Plus listed as a 13 Plus?

I recently bought an iPhone 15 plus from. My brother-in-law used it for somedays then brought it to me from abroad, he had factory reset it before giving it to me. Now that i am using it i noticed that the phone name is given iphone 13+ insead of iphone 15 plus, is this an software issue or something else?

the iphone was bought from apple store in UK

If you’re referring to the name displayed in Settings>General>About>Name, it likely inherited that from the device or backup you transferred your data from to the new phone. You can change it to whatever you want.

Where are you seeing the name? And are you sure it is a 15 Plus? Open Settings App > General > About


What is the model shown?


In the same area, you should see a name field at the top. If is shows iPhone 13+ at the top, tap the > and edit the name. Did you previously have an iPhone 13+ and you restored the backup from that iPhone to the new phone? If you did, the name likely came over in the restore process from your backup.
