Safari 17.2 auto fill URL from bookmark. How to disable it?

Safari 17.2.1 when I start entering in address bar for example youtube.com, it will auto fill a URL link from my address book youtube.com/xxxxx/xxxxx. This is very annoying since I need to remove the rest just to get youtube.com

Safari 16.6.1 has no such problem.

To be clear, this is from bookmark. History is cleared across all devices. Preload Top Hit is OFF, Include Safari Suggestions is OFF, Enable Quick Website Search is OFF. All Smart Search Options are disabled.

How can I disable these useless suggestions in Safari?

I’m facing the same issue. Typing a URL does not mean I want to auto fill a bookmark containing that URL.

It’s getting worse and worse with all the auto-behavior which cannot be disabled.

I'm getting the same with Safari 17.4 desktop. My bookmarks keep autofilling in the search bar, even with all autofill settings turned off. Not sure what I am missing or how to stop this behavior.

I'm afraid there's no way to prevent a bookmark from auto-filling as the Top Hit (besides removing the bookmark).

I spent an hour on the phone with Applecare and they have no idea what's going on. I hope they fix it soon because I'm about to throw this phone out the window. I do not want ancient URLs NEVER SAVED but somehow bubbling up from a history that I have *never saved* to be auto filled every time I ask for a website that I'm used to using. Where is this history even coming from? I delete everything the minute I close a browser and then I go and double check and delete it again in settings so there is no history and yet I keep being shown something that is not even in my bookmarks. I'm so furious I am ready to stop using iPhones altogether because this is the last Straw!!!
