Can't use the "Character" features in the mastering assistant on my £4.3k Mac!

I purchased a mac less than 2yrs ago that cost £4.3k and now i see I can not use all the features of the Mastering suite. I was told by the apple advisors that I'll need to BUY A NEW MAC!!!!! What a joke. This will be the last mac i buy and i'll start using a different software to make music.
