No mail notifications (banners) after updating to iOS 17.3

I updated to the newest iOS (17.3) and since then, I do not get the banners/badges from my email accounts using the Mail app. In order to see new emails, I have to physically go into the mail app and pull it down to refresh to get new emails to load. Before the update, I would get previews of my emails on my lock screen and it would appear on the top when using other apps. I have checked my notification settings and they are set to allow. The "push" feature is also enabled in the mail app. I have turned my phone on and off, and still no email notifications.

I had a similar issue, which I resolved by changing the focus mode. My focus was set on 'Work', which doesn't show the notification badges on the mail app when it is enabled (unclear if this is the default functionality, or if I set it up like this and forgot). Changing to a different focus restored the expected behaviour of the mail app.

Coincidentally, I had enabled the work focus mode shortly after updating to iOS 17.3, which is why I initially thought it was a software bug and found this thread. However toggling that focus mode on/off reproduces the behaviour so this might be a feature. Hopefully this also resolves your issue.
