After updating to latest version i am unable to make calls due to sim failure.

Try restarting your phone→Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
If that doesn't resolve the problem contact your carrier to reactivate your eSIM or if you use a physical nanoSIM get a replacement.

Probably you need a new SIM, but only your carrier can answer that question.
