I bought ICloud and nothing changed on my iPhone storage

I have used 127gb out of 128gb of my iPhone. Today I bought the 200gb iCloud and nothing changed. Most of my storage is used by photos and I don’t even have that many photos and videos. When I open the gallery it says that syncing paused and that I don’t have enough iPhone storage. When I go to the settings the storage still says that I have used 127gb out of 128 gb. I can’t even take screenshots to show you and I can’t delete photos, for example I wanted to delete photos, I pressed delete and nothing happened they reappeared ! What should I do ?

iPhone 14, iOS 17

Nothing will change on your device storage. Device storage is fixed, you will never have more than what you purchased. You can delete photos, videos, apps, and data. You can elect to optimize photos to keep originals in iCloud and lower-resolution images on device.
