I have do not disturb on and it isn’t showing to others that I have it on so for some reason I am still receiving messages but it was working fine not too long ago. Someone also hit notify anyway to me and it won’t stop giving me notifications and another chat with someone who claims to not have pressed notify anyway I am also receiving notifications from.

Go to your Settings & Select Focus. You can adjust general settings for DND there. Under Do Not Disturb==> Allow Notifications==> Apps -- Remove the Messages app.
You can also remove "People" and under options==>Silenc Notifications, Select Always.
The same procedure would apply to other Focus options like Driving, etc.
You can also turn off Focus in Messages. Go to Settings, then Messages,
then under 'Allow Messages To Access" - make sure Focus is disabled.

The thing is I never added apps or people that are allowed to send notifications while I’m on dnd it just randomly stopped working and now it sends notifications while I’m in app
