If you have already forced a restart (and holding the third button press until you see the Apple logo, continuing to hold the third press past any sliders that might appear...) then you’re left to backup, factory reset, and restore, and to then contact Apple Support.
How did you go with the Siri in Australia voice? Did you continue to have the same issues?
Thanks . I now notice I’m not the only one - there are multiple posts here about it but no thread because everyone worded the question differently . I don’t want to factory reset if it’s an update glitch . Can’t really be a setting issue if many are having same issue . Thanks

I've been using an English (UK) voice for years and have never had it revert. I don't think it's a problem with iPadOS.
I’m running iPadOS 17.2 and iOS 17.2.1, and the selected and non-US voice choice for Siri was not altered (here).
Apple is probably going to suggest a backup-reset-restore, but by all means ask them about this glitch, too.
I’m using Siri Australia voice and it’s still working fine since most recent update.
However I have noticed occasional issues with no voice at all
and only the text shows up on screen, that’s only since update.
Possible there’s a couple of bugs perhaps.
Thanks all the comments I can find here have to do with the Irish voice. I’ll try switching to Australian because the American one is driving me crazy! I used it for two years with no problems until this latest update. I’ll reach out to Apple. Thanks.

But the point is that none of us are seeing the voice change without our input. I would bet that if you contact Apple, they're going to give you the exact troubleshooting information MrHoffman already gave you. You can save yourself the time calling and get started on them.
Thank you . Australia works fine ! Also, I tried British and it’s fine too but no question. Every time I put Irish reverts back to American . Therefore seems to be a glitch with the Irish voice given that’s the only voice I’ve seen reported here .
Thanks for getting back to me about this.
I’m glad that we were at least able to determine that the Australian etc are not an issue for you.
I would next, go to the Apple support page, (or app) select iPhone, then selecting Siri in the drop down list and letting them know about the problem and hopefully they’ll have a solution.
If Apple Support do provide a working solution, maybe you could post it back here for anyone else who may have the same issues without a solution.
I was using a British Siri. After the last update, it continued to revert to American every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Especially maddening to a Canadian who used the Canadian Siri until they discontinued it because reasons? After reading about other people having the issue, I chose an Irish voice and haven't had the problem since. It's clearly an issue with the software trying to download a voice that is already there, but why it would only affect a small portion of phones is beyond me. Did you get a resolution? What are the model numbers of your devices? Are you also trying to use an accent that doesn't align with your physical location? Have you also used a VPN on your phone recently?
Thanks . All the comments here have to do with Irish voice . I used it for two years. No problem until the update.
Will do just to be clear. This was an issue with both the iPad and the iPhone with the latest iOS update. I will report both. Thank you.
Yes (iPad & iPhone )
my apologies I forgot to add the iPad into my reply to you, sorry about that.
I have iOS 17.2.1. Australian voice changes to American randomly on both my iPhone & HomePods. Not every day, but 2-3 times per week. They don’t all change at the same time.
