Is it possible to play The sims 4 on an old Macbook pro from 2011?

I'm not sure that you can run that game. The issue would be your GPU. Your tag line indicates that you have a 13" MBP, so we're looking at a 13" Early 2011 or 13" Late 2011 MBP.

The System Requirements page says:

  • "Graphics card (video): Support for Metal. Intel HD 4000 (Integrated Graphics) or better."

According to MacTracker, the 13" Early 2011 and 13" Late 2011 MBPs both have Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Support for Metal on Mac, iPad, and iPhone - Apple Support indicates that MacBook Pros introduced in 2012 or later support Metal and Metal 2 when using El Capitan or later.

On this page you can view the system requirements for the Sims 4

It needs 8GB of ram, so if you've that installed in your old MacBook there will be no problems, as the game supports High Sierra, the macOS installed on a MacBook from 2011
