You don't mention what country you currently reside in, but unless it uses the same electrical wall outlet types, you most likely will need a plug adapter.

You can check what outlet types are available for these countries, using this link:

For reference, if you currently live in the U.S., type A (2-prong) & B (3-prong) outlets are typically used.

Apple offers the Apple World Travel Kit, which you may find may meet your needs when traveling:

That should address the plug type, but as far as operating voltages, the Apple power adapters can work in variety of voltage ranges and are rated to do so safely.
