17.2.1 Bluetooth Issue

Since updating to the newest version of iOS I have lost Bluetooth connectivity to some devices and am unable to reconnect. I tried restarting phone, turning Bluetooth on and off again, resetting the external device. Has anyone else had this issue and if you were able to fix it please tell me how. Thanks for your help.

iPhone 14, iOS 17

Since updating to 17.2.1 a few days ago - nothing but problems with Bluetooth, especially with my Garmin watch. Have to 'forget device' and reconnect the watch every time I want to sync it. Unfortunately, I can't find a fix (I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Garmin app, just in case - no joy). Whatever they have done in 17.2.1 has really messed with bluetooth.

finally replaced my long ignored defunct iPhone with a fancy 15 pro max that gets updates - fancy - I’ve yet to lose connection fully but it will quite frequently be a poor connection and drop a lot of what’s playing and occasionally fully disconnecting but I have been able to reconnect after.

This is what Apple support had me do and it kinda seemed to help for a brief moment at least. Perhaps you might have better luck than I did.

”Tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then test to see if the issue is resolved.”

fyi it will erase all your past remembered Bluetooth devices and your WiFi connections, cellular settings etc etc Clean slate to factory settings (your phone data is unaffected)- he didn’t mention it to me but I guess it’s a bit obvious and just had to try to remember my old passwords is all basically- these guys go deep into detail about the process….https://www.howtogeek.com/270185/how-to-reset-your-ios-devices-network-settings-and-fix-connection-issues/

i think it’s gotta be a software issue and have my fingers crossed for an update soon…

cheers and good luck

Thank you. I tried that but it did not help. I'm able to connect to some devices again after resetting my iphone network settings but I'm still unable to connect to my in car bluetooth. I've reset my stereo system back to factory settings to see if that would help. It is very much related to the update because I had a connection before I updated and then it stopped afterwards. I'm about to roll back the update from my last backup but if there is an easier fix, I'm open to suggestions.
