Boot Camp 'Your bootable USB drive could not be created An error occurred while formatting the disk' error

Hi, I have a problem.

So recently i had someone go on my virtual machine that i had installed on my mac os x and they had mistakenly erased the virtual machine (which i use the most), and ever since then i've been on mac, i tried making a new virtual machine just like how i did the first time with the same usb that was laying around for 1-2 years, when i went on bootcamp and did everything like usual i got an error message that said "Your bootable USB drive could not be created An error occurred while formatting the disk" this has been going on for 2 days now and i've tried everything on other threads but since they're all old (dating since 2012 to 2015) i'm making my own thread, does anyone know how to fix this? P/S Try to explain in a way a newbie would understand. Thanks in advance!

Bootcamp Assistant is not needed for installing Windows into a VM. You should just be able to use a Windows' .iso installer as the source to attach to the VM as a virtual drive. Or are you trying to reinstall Windows into another partition next to your macOS boot volume?

USB sticks are very unreliable so it is possible the files on it have become corrupt over time.
