After spending well over 100 hours in the last two years with two tweens and phones and screen time Ive had enough.
it doesn’t work and Apple doesn’t care. Apple could have made it simple and work but instead it’s complicated and my kids are constantly getting around it.

As shown within the pictures many prominent social media apps (ticktock, Snapchat) are still active even though screen time is on for these apps.
further- windows a single window of downtime is not sufficient. A child needs it off when in school, while sleeping etc. easily built.

can you please elaborate on the workaround? what do you mean by "Turning off the managed services"?
"add screen limits on the local device" - do you mean not using the Family Screen Time feature, but adding the limits from the child device iself?

If you actually made it work people would get iPhones for this feature but instead it’s just a gimmicy
We are not Apple, just other users. Are you certain that they used the app for an hour? I suspect that wasn’t the case.
Spent some time with Apple, we weren't able to solve this issue but we did find a workaround.
Turning off the managed services (i.e. using the parental device to remotely apply screen time controls) and then add screen limits on the local device (i.e. the child's device) worked.
Perhaps if you provided the issue, someone here might be able to provide guidance.
