When using Carplay Shareplay disconnects after a few minutes

When in the care using CarPlay my family members can connect to SharePlay, add songs, and re-order the list and generally control the music. However, after a few minutes, it disconnects. After disconnecting it is sometimes possible to reconnect, but it does not stay connected for long, and after a few times it will not reconnect. Very frustrating situation. This is not a result of not knowing how to use SharePlay. We have read to support articles, but it disconnects after several minutes of use. Everyone is on iOS 17.2.1.

I have exactly the same issue. Does it rely on a cellular signal? Drops connection then won’t allow reconnect without restarting music app. It should attempt to reconnect if dropped.

Same here. Usually manages to reconnect but that involves me (the driver) fiddling around trying to bring up the QR code so the passengers in the back of the car can get the link to rejoin the session.


Is there not even a way to ‘bookmark’ a session or get back in without the QR code? There seems to be an option to allow contacts to join, but not sure how this works as the kids seem to always need the QR to get back on.
