Blink App Notification Sound

The Blink security app notification sound changed and now is very quiet. I went to Settings/Notifications/Blink and the only option is Sounds with an on/off button - no way to change sound or increase volume. This is a very serious issue as I depend on this system when it comes to a domestic violence situation but also see the severity of other issues that people may have such as burglary, etc...

Blink states it is an Apple issue due to the new iOS17 update. However, I haven’t updated, still run on iOS16, and know someone with Android, whose notification sound has changed as well. Sounds more like a Blink issue to me, which I’ve reached out and can’t seem to find resolution.

Can someone please please please help me with this? Does anyone know the trick to changing the notification sound back to what it was? My life basically depends on these cameras… 😔

Hello~ Been on the phone with Blink twice today. They are aware of the potential issue but say “they are working on it” Not very helpful either. I finally have my work around of two devices set up again. It is not an Apple problem.

This has been going on for oh-so-long . . . . There are a few fixes out there but these work only for some phone models at some software levels. Having Siri speak the alert works for some. I believe I will just change systems. I am making a half-hearted attempt to get money back for my system since it has been rendered pretty much useless. Both Apple and Blink have had much more than adequate time to resolve this. Speak with your wallet.

Blink is, to put it politely, not telling the truth. Apple has long since given third-party app developers the option to use their own alert tones. I have a number of apps that do. Blink just hasn't bothered.

Sadly I learned of this issue when a man attempted to break in to my house after 200am. My blink did not awake me at all even though recording man looking right into the camera...before he tried the door then watched me sleeping thru my curtains and waking me when he tried to open window just above my head. No fan of Blinks tech support and passing buck. I ended up getting non blink alarms for all my doors and windows since blink is NOT alerting me timely, reliably, or fixing the problem. They say it's apples update problem. Ok. Doesn't explain why my routine daily schedule "arming" alert is working and loud enough to hear. It's the issue that triggered alert is so low and changed to a drip sound vs a louder alert sound I've had for 4 years.

I have a similar situation - I’m going to purchase Bluetooth speakers and pair them with the phone - I’m hoping they’ll be loud enough to wake me up

Just so that you're aware, many Bluetooth speakers will disconnect and/or turn off if they are not actively receiving audio from your phone. So, be sure you know the capabilities of the speaker you select and make sure it's returnable.
