External RODE microphone doesn't work (cut out and robotic voice), when plugged into a hub on M2 Mac Mini

My RODE microphone worked perfectly on all Apps, including Zoom, on my 2014 iMac 27" Desktop. Recent upgrade to MacMini M2 with limited USB sockets. Everything works when I plug the RODE into the MacMini but after plugging in my monitor, speakers etc I run out of USB sockets, so I need to use a hub. When I plug the RODE into the Mac via one of two powered hubs (a Saetichi stand/USB-C hub or T-P Link USB-C 7-port hub there is distortion/robot voice. Any idea of a work through or better solution. All software updated etc.

Mac mini, macOS 13.6

Receiving software?.... the Rode connects to Zoom... so that I can have on-line guitar lessons. Always worked faultlessly before. I will try to connect to GarageBand as a test as you suggest.I was using Catalina when I had my iMac 27" Pro but that wouldn't take Ventura and partially why I upgraded to MiniMac M2 and an external screen. Can't find any on-line gripes about Zoom not liking Ventura... and Rode microphones are pretty bullet-proof... but it could be Ventura... partially why I posted the question to see if the Community had experienced similar.
