Is there a cable to play music through an old iPod's AUX port into a new speaker's USB port?

I have an old iPod 160GB. I'd like to play its music through a new wireless speaker. The new speaker is primarily for Bluetooth play, however, while it does not have an AUX port, it does have a standard USB port for music input. Unfortunately, when I plug the old iPod power cable USB end into the new speaker, sound does not come out of the new speaker. Is there an AUX to USB cable/adaptor that will allow music to play from the old iPod's AUX port to the new speaker via its USB port? I've seen female AUX to USB cable/adapters, but they appear to allow the flow of music from the USB side to the AUX side, like from a laptop's USB port to headphones plugged into the female AUX port. They don't seem allow the flow of digital music from the female AUX port to the device with the USB port. I hope this makes sense.

Audio from an iPod Classic's 30-pin dock connector should work, by sending audio from the dock connector to the USB input of the speaker. Two points though:

    1. if you have replaced the iPod's cable, note that some third-party cables from the 30-pin port only handle power and data, but not audio (the original Apple cable did both data and audio I believe)
    2. if the cable being used is capable of audio transfer, you will then need to ensure that the speaker is looking at the USB input and not the Bluetooth input

There are Bluetooth adaptors that will fit the iPod Classic's 30-pin Dock Connector, sending Bluetooth audio from the 30-pin Dock Connector, via the adaptor, that the speaker could pick up via the Bluetooth input. That's if you can still find one that you can buy. However, those adaptors take power from the iPod itself, so if your iPod's battery is not as good as it once was (and it won't be), the iPod may not last long before it needs re-charging.
