Issues with Siri on my iPhone

Sometime in the last year, there was an iPhone update and ever since then Siri keeps listening after I give her my initial request. The little blue circle keeps spinning at the bottom of the screen to show me she still listening, but I’ve already made my request and don’t want her to keep listening for another one. This is usually a case when I’ve asked Siri to play a song in Apple Music and then the song sounds like a CD skipping because she’s still hanging out on the screen trying to listen for my next command. This is not very helpful while driving at 65 miles an hour down the freeway and trying to utilize her as a hands-free option. I really hope I don’t get into an accident because I’m now required a fumble with my iPhone when, for the last 10 years, it worked perfectly fine.

i’ve tried all the various workaround solutions listed on this website, but none of them have fixed the problem. The solution is to correct the erroneous programming that caused the issue in the first place.
