Create New Contact does not appear as option - after software update and restart

When a new person texts me and I select info to search for ‘create new contact’ the option does not appear.

Steps: Click > after phone number, Click Info.

What: no number appears, only options are Message, Call Video and Pay. Mail is greyed out. No Create Contact option exists.

I have turned off my phone for 5 minutes and turned it on again.

I have fully charged my phone to 100%

I have checked in General > Settings that my software is up to date and no updates aer available.

This has gone on for at least a month.

I found the new steps to take. It seems overly burdensome and not helpful or intuitive, but if I take these steps, I can take a new number and create a contact.

In Messages, click on message,

click inside "Text Message" as if you're going to compose a message (this should be totally unnecessary)

THEN

Click the > arrow after the phone number

THEN

click Info, (the option to add a new contact should appear here but I have to take one more step)

THEN

Scroll down to create contact.

Click Create Contact

Name Contact

This is NOT intuitive, smart, easy or helpful. Please consider updating this functionality so that if I click on a new number, then click the > arrow, Create New Contact shows. This is elegant, simple, intuitive, and what I would expect of Apple design and UI.

Thanks, Sina
