Ultra2 with phonak hearing aids

I have an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and wear hearing aids (Phonak). I can connect the hearing aids on my iPhone 15 Pro and they work just fine using my phone. I can also stream music through my hearing aids through the app on my Ultra 2 as long as my iPhone is on me (even though I have cellular service on my watch, streaming doesn’t seem to work without the phone). However, if I make a call through my Ultra 2, the sound will not come through my hearing aids (only through the Ultra 2 speakers). So if I go for a run without my iPhone, it seems, I won’t be able to hear the call through my hearing aids? And if I make a call on my watch with my iPhone on me, I still can’t hear the call through my hearing aids if I answer it on my watch, I have to switch the call over to my phone, then they will come through my hearing aids? Do I have this right? Is there a work around for this?
