Unable to get Dolby only Stereo PCM

I have this same problem. Apple 4k no longer get anything beyond Stereo PCM since iOS 17 release. Everything else works expect Apple TV 4K.

When you have the AppleTV set to output Atmos, it changes any other Dolby Digital types to PCM 5.1.

had this same issue. Changed audio format to DD 5.1 and it was resolved. If I want to watch a movie in Atmos, I have to change it to Atmos manually.

When set to output Atmos, movies that are actually in Atmos sound great. But anything else is PCM 5.1 or stereo PCM.

I experience the same problem here. Configuration with NAD M10 V2 Amplifier with Dolby 5.1, eARC connected on my Samsung 49KS8000 (onebox). Also tried Surround Test apps on Apple TV to be sure to get surround sound. tvOS17.1 beyond solved a lot of other video playing issues. tvOS17.2 didn't solved this issue. Hope Apple will look into this malfunction.

I've got this problem on tvOS 17.2 upgrade, so I just fixed it by passthrough the sound ATV->TCL TV->Yamaha receiver. It seems that TV adds missing matadata (no signal processing or reformat in TV settings).

No solution. Some have found workarounds (that work for some).

Can you send me some links on this solutions?

I can only use eArc on my MAD amplifier. So unchecking would give no sound at all.
