17.2.1 fixes?

I made the mistake of updating my wife's XR to iOS 17. Oh, how I wish I hadn't! I have a long list of problems from text editing to lagging screen and keyboard to inability to take pictures (and more)! I am reluctant to do the next update 17.2.1 until I know that it will actually FIX something! Any advice?

iPhone SE, iOS 17

It is a version to fix some issues that were reported. But the specific issues were not mentioned in the release notes.

I also made a mistake to update to 17.2.1. For me at least it rendered my iPhone 15 Pro Max screen unresponsive; the only solution was to wipe it via Recovery Mode. Which it was the only mode the Mac recognized for the device when it was plugged in. This was after doing a hard restart multiple times.

Apple should QA the update; from a user experience it is lacking and if this occurs on an enterprise level - I can only imagine the chaos.

I have no doubt in the testing done with beta testing. I’ve seen before some bugs post install even with beta testing being done. I don’t question their QA and if it came across wrong I apologize. I mostly stated that in the event someone else also ran into the same issue. My phone is back up on 17.2.1 with no issues so idk what happened prior. It could have certainly been a one off with my phone but it’s working now.

Hi Lawrence,

With all due respect, I too updated to 17.2.1 and have experienced all sorts of problems including battery drain, mail that won’t download from server, wonky talk to text functionality and myriad other annoyances… I might agree that it is a phone specific issue if not for the volume of similar complaints found online… I’m not generally one to complain (champagne problems and all that🤣) but I hope the next update corrects some of these issues!
