My MacBook is receiving this Clean my Mac brand to clean my Mac but I don't trust this program. What do you recommend?

If not cleaning tools, how would you recommend clearing out ~/Library/Caches which are currently taking up 70GB on my MacBook? Thanks! Much appreciated!

The assumption I have seen on many Facebook pages and Quora pages is that because it is on the App Store, is that it is "recommended by Apple." Unfortunately the review system on the App Store is slanted because only those people who download a software get a chance to review it. Those of us techies who know better don't download it, so don't get an actual opportunity to review it. I've repeatedly asked them to remove Zeobit and Macpaw software that behave this way, and they refuse to do so. I have also worked at an Apple Authorized Service Provider and gotten my Apple Certified Mac Technician while there, and worked with another who maintained a list of these software that behave this way, along with other malware.
i have written a user tip on their removal:

MacKeeper, Cleanmymac, and Advanced Mac Cleaner are the three utilities that are comparable in their mistaken approach to Mac OS optimization.
Hi David,
First off, get rid of all cleaning tools. These only add to the problem. See my article I mentioned already about doing that. Determine what programs are dumping caches by looking at the name. Don't multitask during backups, onedrive syncs, or iCloud syncs. Once you have made two separate clone backups on different media, and start maintaining those, do them at night. Only use a very large iCloud drive if you have a 100 Mbps or higher upstream internet. Most internets are only that downstream, and WiFi being shared only reduces the bandwidth more. Use Image Capture to sync photos and movies with your iDevices and the Mac instead of iCloud.

Start a new topic thread so you can get more focussed attention on your specific problem. Most likely you have some runaway memory leak on some tool that you have running, and need to isolate it.
Staying away from most "cleaner" programs.
There's an application called DaisyDisk that you could consider. According to its vendor, Apple does recommend it. DaisyDisk can help you to find files that are taking space on your system, but I'd still recommend giving thought as to what to delete or archive (rather than blindly deleting anything that it finds).

No, Apple doesn't recommend it, and most experienced people in this forum would, as noted above, actively discourage you from using it. Why do you think you need it? What do you think needs to be "cleaned"?
There's some information on this type of application here:

I strongly reccommend against the use of any cleaning program on your Mac. It will do your Mac more harm then good
Easy. Startup into Safe Mode. Put the contents of the Caches folder in the trash. Restart normally.
The Mac will actually run a bit slower for a day or so as apps rebuild their cache files.
