Watch music blank after latest iOS upgrade

After latest iOS update on my Apple Watch (10.2 (21S364) my Music app is blank and I can’t find or play any music. Most frustrating as I use my Apple Watch to play music during my daily swim.

Apple Watch not downloading music My Apple Watch 8 is not downloading music from my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Watch is being charged and is next to my iPhone. But the album download page just spins without downloading music. I’ve tried restarting the Watch and Music apps. I’ve ensured that the latest updates are installed on Watch and iPhone. I’ve also tried erasing the watch, re-pairing it with my phone, and restoring it from a backup. None of that fixes the issue.

Music not playing through Apple Watch Having purchased my Apple Watch (9) a few months back, I was initially able to play music from iTunes and from Spotify (having added the app to my watch), through my Apple Watch, being given an icon option to choose either my Apple Watch or my iPhone when initiating the music on my watch, for the tracks to play through. A couple of weeks back, this facility and these options stopped functioning, and now I'm on able to choose my iPhone to play music through, so I'll press play on my watch, but the music will play through my phone, and I'll have no way of changing this. I have tried all avenues to adjust this and re-establish the previous facility/option, but nothing has worked. Please advise? Many thanks in advance, Glynn Reed.

Apple watch not syncing music with iPhone My apple watch has stopped syncing music with my iPhone. It won't update playlists. It won't update play counts. I've tried restarting. I've tried re-pairing. Very annoying. I like my apple watch to go running with, which is primarily why I bought it. But without being able to sync music, it's a pretty poor running watch.

Answering my own question. I powered my watch off and on again and access to my music playlists returned. (Yes I know it’s a cliche, but I should have taken the advice from the IT Crowd 😉)

I’m experiencing the same issue. I rebooted the iPhone Music appeared on the WATCH got a pop up to enter my security code on the Watch and Music app was gone again.
