Push Notifications Stopped Working IPhone 12Pro iOS 17.2

Sometime starting yesterday I no longer receive any push notifications. I rely on these to alert me when my security cameras are tripped. Just this morning, someone was trespassing on my property. They drove and walked in front of my cameras, yet I never receive any notification of the event.

I’ve tried all of the usual stuff, restarting the app, restarting the phone. Notifications are enabled, scheduled summary id off. Do not disturb is off, etc. I’ve rebooted the cameras.

I’ve tried everything suggested in a bazillion different threads. Nothing works. It’s definitely not the cameras. They are functioning normally.

I’ve done two different iOS updates in the past day. IOS 17.2 and 17.2.1. Neither one fixed the problem. This has wasted an entire day trying to fix the problem. No luck. Please help.

I seem to be in the same boat and hoping to see a response from Apple soon. I’ve did all the suggested troubleshooting on the security system and iPhone and no change. The cameras seem to be operating correctly. They are recording and I can search the recordings, but I’m not getting notifications of movement.

I thought I would update this thread. I finally fixed the problem I was having receiving push notifications from my security cameras.

I ended up having to delete the security camera app entirely. I then reinstalled the app. I had to climb a ladder and scan the QR code on each camera to set them up all over again. All of my settings had to be returned to the way I prefer them within the app.

After all of that, I am reliably receiving push notification alerts. Kind of a pain, but it worked.

Of course I’ll never know what caused the problem to begin with. Was it a recent update to the security camera app or was it one of Apple’s iOS 17 updates? I’ve been burned by both Apple’s and the camera manufacturer’s updates in the past.

Years ago, an Apple update caused my Bluetooth mouse on my Mac to stop working for 4 months. That happened twice. All of it is frustrating, but these things unfortunately happen from time to time. “Updates” always concern me. In fairness, there is a lot going on with all of the technology we use on a daily basis. It’s not hard to imagine how a small bug could cause a problem.
