Hello friends, I have never owned an iPhone before and I am thinking of buying one soon. I'm very undecided about which one to buy. Can you help me with my choice? I don't play games on my phone. When I compared them to each other, I was undecided. Comment assuming it is the same price, I will buy it as a new device. Please comment with reasons.

iPhone 12 Pros:
Larger screen,better display, higher resolution, better brightness.
Dual cameras, with Zoom option, and Ultra Wide
HDR video recording support
Better Water resistance
Better front camera.
Better battery life.
iPhone SE Pros
A15 CPU. Slightly newer.
May be supported with software updates for longer than the iPhone 12.
The iPhone 12 is better in almost all features than the SE, except its just a little bit older than the SE.
I would go with the 12, if you plan on updating in 5 years or so. If you need it for longer go for the SE.

your referring to the iPhone SE second gen that was discontinued in 2022. However, there was a third gen se that was released in 2022. This forum is discussing the 3rd gen iPhone SE that was released in 2022. So, the se is actually 2 years newer than the iPhone 12.
if your someone like me who realizes most people don’t even use 25% of their phone capabilities, just go with iPhone SE 3rd gen. It doesn’t have as many bells and whistles but I guarantee most people will not even notice the difference on such a small screen. You’ll also get 2 more years of updates and use out of the 3rd gen iPhone SE.

You might also find them in the Certified Refurbished section of the online Apple Store. But if you were hoping to buy a new phone directly from Apple (e.g., to ensure getting an iPhone that wasn't locked to a particular carrier), that's no longer an option for the 12s.

Well, the SE that you mention was discontinued in March 2022, so if the product that you purchase really is "new", it has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for at least 8+ months. This would do nothing good for the battery. I sure would not want that phone.
The iPhone 12 was discontinued in September 2023, so a "new" product would be at least 3 months old and possibly much older than that.
Frankly, I think the chances that you would really receive a "new" product are pretty small, despite what that the seller might claim. You would have a much better chance of a "new" product with the iPhone 12.
Make sure that you buy from an authorized Apple dealer. You can find a list of authorized sellers in your area by using this link: Find Locations
You are taking a real chance if you decide to buy from an unauthorized account.

If the OP is a fan of smaller phones, he or she may want to compare the iPhone SE (3rd generation) with the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 13 mini. (The 14 and 15 series don't have Mini options.)
Processor aside, the 12 Mini seems to have several big advantages over the SE (3rd generation). The 13 Mini retains those advantages AND has the same processor as the SE (3rd generation).

Compare iPhone 12 to SE Third Generation
I will buy the device from Turkey and it is still in stock. The reason I bought one of these two products is my budget. I will buy both products for the same price. In Turkey, these devices are sold for 791 dollars. I don't know what I expect from a phone, but size and battery are important. I made the comparison on the official site but I was undecided, which one do you prefer and why? Leave aside the design of the device and explain more than one reason.
I’m sure they did however other people read these old articles. That way the new readers k ow there’s an iPhone SE 3rd gen that was released in 2022. Post in only 3 months old but now new readers are all the more knowledgeable of the truth.
Check the date of the thread that you just replied to. It was started and responded to on December 18. I'm guessing by now the OP had made a decision.
