I cannot mark my post as "Answered".

I posted a question here, and on another forum. It was answered on the other forum so I posted a reply to my own thread here on the Apple community, with the solution.

I cannot see any option to mark the post as "Answered".

Where should I be looking for this option?

Unfortunately, Apple has removed that capability from the forum. It has replaced it with a new “Voting” system, which uses an Up or Down arrow to indicate your choice. In your thread, tap the Up arrow on your reply. Over time that reply should be prompted to “Best Reply”.

A guess on my part, but I think the reason for this change was because far too many topics were being marked by the topic's originator as Solved by marking their own post. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if the self-answer solved the question. But very, very often it was just a "Thanks!" to the person who actually supplied the solution.

The idea of marking a reply Solved was for that response to be displayed at the top of the topic next to the original question. Then anyone searching for a similar, or same issue could see the solution right at the top of a topic they found that matched their search.

Hardly useful when all you see at the top is, "Thanks!", and you then have to read a sometimes long topic anyway to find the solution.

Make that 4. (Fore!!).

In all seriousness, I have zero interest in golf but I genuinely do love when people follow up.

@BillBradford

IMO, your original post deserves a kudos too. I would totally upvote it for a ‘well formulated question’ badge.

I know, I know… Phrasing!

I might need to workshop the deets…

(and yes, that was Archer reference)

Edit: I just noticed that feature is theoretically there. Unfortunately it suffers from even worse phrasing. And, also…seems to be broken. 🙄 (i’m certain I haven’t reached a voting limit for the day)(unless my limit=1 😕).
