how to turn on fast forwarding by scrolling anywhere on the screen?

We used to be able to fast forwards/backwards in videos by pressing and scrolling anywhere on the screen in fullscreen mode.

it was very efficient, and smooth.

unfortunately I think Apple removed that feature in IOS 17 which is a shame.

can we bring it back, perhaps as an optional feature so people can turn it on/off as they prefer, instead of either forcing it on everyone, or suddenly taking it away!
