Since 10.2 update the battery is horrible on apple watch 7. Barely make through the day. It was much better. Is it possible to solve it somehow. Or even just reinstall an older version. I was ok with watch os 9. It was nothing wrong with it. And it was good battery life
And, the swipe up function that gave battery percentage and find my phone is gone. It’s a bunch of other notifications…calendar, fitness, etc. so frustrating!
battery %, find my phone, etc now is located by pushing button on side of watch underneath digital crown. Very annoying change but at least its still there👍🏻
My Apple Watch 4 worked fine up until I pulled it off the charger this morning and the “hello” screen appeared. I did not ask for the 10.2 update (nor were my settings set to automatically update), and somehow the update took place.
Performed a hard restart hoping to get rid of the hello screen (and it did), and it took about 30 minutes to finally appear to be connected to my iPhone. From that point on, my battery drained rather quickly. Usually I have approximately 45% when I put it on the charger at night, but I’ve had to put it on a charger twice now today, just to make it through a normal day of use.
This looks like it’s the makings of another class action suit regarding intentional battery drain to encourage people to upgrade.
Did you try to unpair the watch from the iPhone, pair it again and choose to set it up as a new device, without using the backup?

Resetting the network settings helped some users, but you will lose your Wi-Fi passwords.
Disabling or deleting the Walkie Talkie app might also help.
Yes, happened to my Apple Watch 5 as well. It was running fine on watchOS 9, still having around 50% left at the end of the day. Non LTE watch, at least 30+ min workout daily, connected to Wi-Fi or iPhone during the day.
Updated to watchOS 10.1 and was lucky to get 20% left in the evening with the same use during the day.
Unpairing and setting it up as a new watch helped to get at least some battery life back. 10.2 improved it a bit more. But the battery life on the Apple Watch 5, capacity still at 92%, is not back to what it was, using watchOS 9.

Apple Watch battery drain after 10.2 upda… - Apple Community
Check out this fix. Had to do with the weather complication searching for a location constantly. Watch series 9 updated to 10.2 and this worked for me.
Might have to scroll up one, it's the response from DHerrlin.
My battery used to last for 2 days. It would have 65% battery left after 12 hours, so I’d get 2 days wearing it before I have to charge it. Since the 10.2 update it’s at 30% after 12 hours. Very disappointed in Apple.
I found the battery drain on the Apple Watch was from the music app. It was worse in early versions of iOS 17 and Apple WatchOS 10. Now using iOS17.3 and Apple WatchOS10.3 and still clearly the Music app. Whatever they did it’s constantly checking for updates. I’m also beginning to think it was in iOS 16 as well. Doesn’t seem to matter if I force close the Apple Watch music app or not as long as iphone playing music.
Force closing apps was also very helpful with battery drain on the Apple Watch. Whatever they did to Apple WatchOS 10, the old methods of force closing it seem to cause it to crash. Knowing how to do it correctly, really has been a lifesaver.
Thanks for the info. I actually figured out how to add it back and remove the other icons that was in its place when you slide up.
