Parental controls option disappeared on iPhone

Our parental controls completely stopped working after a few recent software updates in late 2023. The parental controls are essential in our family, and we are finding nothing in these forums that is helpful to fix the fact they they don't work that well, and now don't work at all! Our child's allowed sites work, but parental controls to add new sites or make other changes don't work they are all greyed out. Neither can we make changes on our child's computer by entering the passcode directly there. We noticed our child was an admin on the computer and even tried changing that, and making a parent the admin and making the child a standard user, without success. Parental control issues that have been reported here since 2020, and even reported on in various newspapers in mid-2023, and the issues still continue. At this point we cannot see a way to fix the issues without three people physically taking our devices ti an Apple Store Genius Bar and having them take a look. It's very frustrating.

This is extremely ridiculous, this devices cost us an arm and a leg and we get them expecting them to work. They make us run these dang updates and then we have issues. It needs to be fixed because it is a feature that is utilized by many!
